According to Police Col. Rommel Ochave, chief of the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO), the drug test is part of the internal cleansing program of the Philippine National Police. Results of the drug test have yet to be released by Cebu Provincial Forensic Unit. Those who underwent the drug test were police personnel from the Barili, Dumanjug, Ronda, and Alcantara police stations, Ochave said. “We want all police personnel in the entire province of Cebu to be subjected to a drug test. This is in line with the ongoing program of the chief PNP which is to discipline all police,” said Ochave. Ochave said those who test positive for illegal drugs may face dismissal from service, adding that the CPPO will not hesitate to penalize erring police officers. Ochave warned his men to not engage in any illegal activity. “Let us remain honest and serve the public with integrity,” Ochave said.
