Seventeen's 'FML' sells 4.55 million copies to set new record for highest first-week album sales

K-pop idol group Seventeen set a new record for the highest first-week album sales in K-pop history.  Seventeen released their 10th mini-album “FML” on April 24, which broke album records in South Korea.  K-pop group Seventeen (Twitter)
According to Korea’s Hanteo Chart, “FML” sold a total of 4,550,214 copies in the first week of release from April 24 to 30.  This set the record for the highest first-week album sales total ever for a K-pop album based on Hanteo Chart data.  The previous record holder was BTS’ “Map of the Soul: 7,” which sold 3,378,600 copies in the first week of release in February 2020, followed by BTS’ “Proof,” released in June 2022, which tallied 2,752,496 copies sold, and BTS’ “BE,” which had 2.27 million copies in first-week sales.  Seventeen’s “FML” earlier set a new record for the highest first-day album sales in Hanteo Chart’s history.  “FML” sold 3,998,373 copies on the first day of release on April 24, compared to BTS’ “Map of the Soul: 7,” which sold 2,653,050 copies on the first day of release on Feb. 21, 2020.
