Police Lt. Col. John Joel Batusbatusan, Kabankalan police chief, said that Enriquez, who was drunk, went to the house of his brother Freddie, 48. Batusbatusan said that a heated argument ensued between the brothers as the younger confronted and accused the suspect that he killed his dog. The suspect allegedly shot the victim with an improvised cannon or “boga.” Fortunately, the victim was not hit. A commotion then followed that led them to fall into a hole, according to Batusbatusan. The two then grappled with the victim’s bolo, until the suspect was able to grab it from him, and stabbed him, he added. Police recovered from the crime scene a 26-inch bolo and two improvised cannons. Batusbatusan said the suspect later surrendered to a barangay official. However, he was released from police custody after their family decided not to press charges against him.
