Nearly 6,000 job openings were offered by the local government of Bulacan and the Department of Labor and Employment Region III (DOLE-R3) at SM malls in the City of San Jose Del Monte and Marilao, Bulacan on Labor Day, May 1.
Thousands of job seekers carrying their resumes flocked to the job fairs.
The job fair at the event center of SM City Marilao attracted 46 employers from various industries such as retail, food and beverage, manufacturing, healthcare, finance, hospitality, and many more.
Companies such as Sterling, Moldex, and Manila Doctors Hospital were among the many exhibitors, offering a total of 2,846 job opportunities.
Spearheaded by the DOLE R-3 and the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), the simultaneous job fairs at the said SM malls in the province welcomed fresh graduates and those who have been displaced from their jobs due to Covid-19 pandemic.
According to Gladyz May S. Latiza, Marilao Mall's public relations manager, the employers would join the representatives in conducting interviews and discussing available positions.
At SM City San Jose Del Monte, 34 employers took part in the job fair with 3,016 opportunities from a diverse range of positions in healthcare, retail, and construction.
According to the provincial director of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Bulacan Field Office May Lynn C. Gozun, the agency recognizes the challenges that job seekers face in today's competitive job market.
With this, DOLE aims to provide aid and support to jobseekers by offering practical on-site solutions such as free resume printing services and counseling, as well as providing various government services such as Pag-ibig, Social Secu rity System (SSS), Philippine Health (PhilHealth) to fast-track jobseekers’ possible employment.
