Singer Taylor Swift began dating Joe Alwyn in 2016. They've mostly stayed quiet about their relationship over the past six years. On April 9, American news outlet Entertainment Tonight first revealed that the two had broken up a few weeks ago, while Taylor is doing her Eras US tour. Joe is an actor seen in several film and television projects, including 2018's The Favourite and 2022's Conversations With Friends. According to *ET*, a source said the breakup was amicable and 'was not dramatic.' 'The relationship had just run its course. It's why [Alwyn] hasn't been spotted at any shows,' the source reportedly said. Although Taylor and Joe kept their relationship away from the limelight, they are very much in love. During his past interview with British Vogue in 2018, Joe mentioned that he liked the idea of being private regarding his relationship with Taylor. 'I think we have been successfully very private, and that has now sunk in for people,' Joe said. During the pandemic, the pair collaborated while Taylor created her albums Folklore and Evermore, which gained awards during the 2020 and 2021 Grammy Awards. Joe was under the pseudonym William Bowery, and he helped co-write lyrics for 'Betty' and "Exile" from Folklore and on 'Champagne Problems,' 'Coney Island,' and 'Evermore' on Evermore\*.\* During her speech at the 2021 Grammy Awards, Taylor gave a shout-out to the actor. 'Joe is the first person that I play every single song that I write, and I had the best time writing songs with you in quarantine,' she said.
