The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) collared 35 illegal drugs and illegal gambling suspects in a series of anti-criminality operations in Quezon City on Black Saturday, April 8, and Easter Sunday, April 9.
The QCPD said P125,000 worth of shabu were seized from six suspects in four buy-bust operations conducted by the operatives of La Loma, Novaliches, Payatas Bagong Silangan, and Project 6 police stations.
The suspects were identified as Rolly Blanca, Alan Erojo Tapales, Enrique Montoya, Reynaldo Castel Azares, Kevin Bayrog, and Mark Angelo Agapao.
Charges for violations of Republic Act 9165 will be filed against the suspects, police said.
Meanwhile, the police also nabbed 25 persons for illegal gambling on the said dates. The suspects were caught while playing “cara y cruz,” and “tupada” or cockfighting.
The suspects will be charged for Presidential Decree (P.D.) 1602 or the Anti-Illegal Gambling Law.
“Ating ipagpatuloy na tugisin at sugpuin ang mga ganitong ipinagbabawal na gawain at lahat ng uri ng krimen sa ating lungsod para mapanatili ang kaayusan at kapayapaan (We will continue to pursue and suppress such illegal activities and all types of crime in our city to maintain order and peace),” QCPD Director Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III said.
