Man wanted for child abuse nabbed in Ifugao

LAGAWE, Ifugao – The Ifugao Provincial Police Office nabbed the Cordillera region’s Top 5 most wanted person during the implementation of a warrant of arrest in Barangay Santa Maria, Alfonso Lista, Ifugao on Good Friday. Ifugao police chief Col. Davy Limmong identified the suspect as Vergel Alejo Aliangan, 29, married, heavy equipment operator and a resident of Barangay Santa Maria. Aliangan was arrested on a warrant issued by Judge Victor Cumigad of Branch 15, Regional Trial Court, Alfonso Lista, for violation of the Anti-Child Abuse Law (RA 7610). Limmong said the suspect was the Top 5 most wanted person on the regional level for second quarter of this year. "I congratulate our operatives for another successful manhunt operation to bring MWP to justice and hold the apprehended suspect accountable for the crime he committed. Our police will continue to seek those who are hiding and hold them accountable under the law to ensure that justice is served on their victims," Limmong said.
