Bus falls on its side in Negros after evading motorcycle; 14 hurt


BACOLOD CITY – Fourteen passengers of a Ceres Liner bus were injured after it fell on its side while evading a motorcycle in Barangay Purisima, Manapla, Negros Occidental on Black Saturday.

Based on initial information, the bus and a motorcycle were traveling on the same direction to this city when the motorcycle rider hit a bump and swerved to the lane of the bus.

The bus was traveling at a slow speed when he tried to avoid the motorcycle.

Based on a report of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), the passengers suffered minor injuries and were brought to a hospital.

However, the rider identified by police as Jembo Pogosa, 37, of Bago City, abandoned his motorcycle and could not be located while the bus driver was placed under police custody for further investigation.

Meanwhile, three persons were also injured when a Canter truck also fell on its side in Barangay Santa Teresa in Manapla on Black Saturday.
