The second-seeded Alcantara and Sun lost their steam and absorbed a 6-1, 6-1 upset loss to unseeded Justin Barki of Indonesia and Igor Sijsling of the Netherlands in this $15,000 event. Alcantara and his partner were still proud of their accomplishment despite the defeat. “Not our day [today] but still a good week,” Alcantara wrote on his social medial. “Thank you Sun Fajing for the great week. Hope we can play more tournaments together.” Prior to their finals defeat, Alcantara and Sun only dropped a single set throughout the tournament. They first routed Singaporeans Julien Tremolieres and Maximus Zavier Wong, 6-0, 6-1, then downed Czech duo Hynek Barton and Patrik Riki, 6-4, 6-4, before surviving Australians Aaron Addison and Ethan Cook, 4-6, 6-1, 10-6 in the semifinal. So far, Alcantara has one doubles title this year – at the M25 New Delhi tournament in India with Thai partner Pruchya Isaro last month.
