Thousands participate in Good Friday procession in Zamboanga City

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Thousands of people joined the Holy Burial procession locally known as the “Santo Entierro” on Good Friday here.
Zamboanga Archdiocese Auxiliary Bishop Moises Cuevas led the Santo Entierro that started from the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.
The procession ended with the blessing of the image of the dead Christ back at the cathedral.
Mayor John Dalipe joined another procession participated in by more than 10,000 people organized by the town parish in Barangay Tetuan.
Police estimated the crowd to have reached 12,000.
The Santo Entierro procession depicts the moments after Christ’s death on the cross.
