Suspect in murder of former Pangasinan provincial administrator arrested
SANTA BARBARA, Pangasinan – Police have arrested a 26-year-old woman in connection with the death of former Pangasinan provincial administrator Albertini de Guzman Jr.
The suspect was identified as “Fredaline,” who was apprehended in a hot pursuit in a nearby town on Good Friday.
The body of De Guzman, 73, a resident of Barangay Banaoang here, was found inside a car parked on Maramba St., Barangay Poblacion Norte, this town, at 10:30 p.m. on Holy Wednesday.
De Guzman, a former Santa Barbara municipal administrator, was seated on the driver’s seat with a shoelace looped around his neck and tied at the headrest.
A concerned citizen noticed the vehicle with hazard lights on for some time, prompting him to report this to the barangay who informed the police.
A follow-up investigation is being conducted by the local police with other law enforcement units under the direct supervision of Police Col. Jeff Fanged, Pangasinan police director.
