P31-M worth of shabu seized in two separate buy-bust operations in Cebu

CEBU CITY – At least P31-million worth of suspected shabu were seized from two women who were arrested in separate buy-bust operations in the cities of Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue on Black Saturday, April 8.

In Lapu-Lapu, Pamila Legaspo, 43, was arrested in Barangay Mactan and more than three kilos of suspected shabu were allegedly seized from her possession.

Col. Elmer Lim, chief of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office, said the packs of shabu that were seized from the pregnant suspect were estimated to cost P21 million.

The 3.1 kilos of shabu that were seized from the woman were stuffed in tea packs with Chinese markings, Lim said.

Lim added that the suspect was previously arrested in Navotas City for theft charges but was able to post bail.

When the woman was released from jail, she was recruited to operate illegal drug distribution in the cities of Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu, police said.

Follow-up investigation will be conducted to identify the woman’s cohorts, police said.

In Barangay Maguikay, Mandaue, 44-year-old Romina Perez was arrested with packs of suspected shabu worth P10.2 million.
The suspect is a resident of Barangay Guinakot, Danao City, police said.

Police said Perez was cornered when she agreed to sell packs of shabu worth P150,000 to poseur-buyer.
