In its 4 p.m. weather update, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains may be experienced in Cagayan Valley and Cordillera Administrative Region. Residents in these areas were reminded to be vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate with at times heavy rains. Meanwhile, the trough or extension of a low pressure area (LPA) spotted outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) east of Mindanao may bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms in Eastern Visayas, Sorsogon, Masbate, Surigao del Norte, and Dinagat Islands in the next 24 hours. Metro Manila and the rest of the country may also experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms caused by the trough of LPA and localized thunderstorms. DOST-PAGASA Weather Specialist Daniel James Villamil stated that chances for the LPA to develop into a tropical cyclone remains small in the next 24 hours. "Ngunit hindi natin tinatanggal yung posibilidad ng tropical cyclone development sa mga susunod na araw," he added. The LPA is expected continue moving westward and may enter PAR on Sunday afternoon up to night.
