Municipal police chief in Cotabato axed due to untidy station

PRESIDENT ROXAS, Cotabato â€“ The chief of police here was sacked from his post after he failed to implement the beautification program in his police station.

Jamili Macaraeg, Police Regional Office-12 director, relieved Major Mautin Pangandigan after he conducted a surprise inspection on the police station on Good Friday and discovered that he failed to comply with his directive to all police personnel in Soccsksargen region to undertake beautification programs for their police stations. He also found out that Pangandigan did not comply with his directive which enjoins PRO-12 personnel to provide prompt police assistance during emergency situations especially to those living in far-flung communities. Macaraeg said he conducted the inspection of police stations to ensure the readiness of police personnel under his command in responding to emergency situations and the implementation of stringent security measures during the Holy Week when the PRO-12 is under heightened alert. Pangandigan was reassigned to the Cotabato Police Provincial Office in Kidapawan City and was replaced by Police Major Jun Napat.
