Laborer drowns in Aurora beach on Good Friday

DIPACULAO, Aurora – A 36-year-old construction worker drowned while swimming in a beach in Barangay Lipat here on Good Friday. Coast Guard Station (CGS)-Aurora identified the victim as Carlito Badil, a resident of Bislig City, Surigao del Sur. Badil was swimming with his co-worker, Japet Subang, 28, from Southern Leyte, when they were caught by large waves and got separated. Subang eventually made it to the shore but Badil failed to surface and believed to have drowned. CGS-Aurora conducted a search and rescue operation and found the body of the victim on the shoreline of L’Siren Resort in Barangay Reserva here.
