CSE-FSO ratings now accessible online, CSC announces

Published Apr 8, 2023 06:45 am
Individuals who took the Career Service Examination for Foreign Service Officer (CSE-FSO) can now check their individual ratings online as the Civil Service Commission (CSC) announced that it is already available. In a statement, CSC said that the rating can be generated thru the Online Civil Service Examination Result Generation System (OCSERGS) at [https://erpo.csc.gov.ph/ocsergs/](https://erpo.csc.gov.ph/ocsergs/) found on the CSC website. All examinees, whether they passed or failed the test, can use the system. To access the rating, the examinee must input the following details into the online form: last name, first name, extension name (if any), middle initial, date of birth, date and type of examination, and the CSC Regional Office (CSC RO) with jurisdiction over the testing center where he/she took the test. The February 2023 CSE-FSO posted 573 actual examinees from Regions 1 to 11, National Capital Region (NCR), and Cordillera Administrative Region. From this number, 102 examinees passed and 471 failed, leading to a passing rate of 17.80 percent. The majority of the passers, numbering 80, came from the NCR. On the other hand, passers may request a Certification of Eligibility printed on CSC official letterhead starting 19 April 2023; however, they are advised to check first with the CSC RO if the certification is already available for claiming before going to the office. The letterhead-printed certification is free of charge and is issued by the CSC RO with jurisdiction over the examinee’s testing center. In personally claiming the certification, the passer must present an ID card – preferably the same ID card presented during the filing of application – and application receipt and/or CSC official receipt (if available). In case of passers who are currently based in another region different from where they took the exam, or are located in a remote area but within the same region, they may personally claim the Certification of Eligibility at the CSC Regional or Field Office (CSC RO/FO) nearest them. For those who have moved to or are based in another region, the passer must submit a written request to the CSC RO holding their certification record, requesting that it be forwarded to a conduit CSC RO/FO where they would like to claim it, and citing the reason/s for said request. For those located in a remote area within the same region, the passer must submit a written request to the CSC RO holding their certification record, requesting that it be forwarded to the nearest CSC FO where they would like to claim it. Passers who need the Certification of Eligibility printed on security paper may request it, with a fee, from any of the 16 CSC ROs nationwide, regardless of the place of examination. They are advised to check the availability of the certification, as well as the requirements and procedure for claiming, before going to the office. The security paper-printed certification is usually submitted as supporting document for application for entry or promotion in government service. The CSE-FSO serves both as a qualifying test and an eligibility examination. As a qualifying test, it is the first part of the five-part Foreign Service Officer Examination (FSOE). Passers of the CSE-FSO shall proceed to the succeeding parts of the FSOE—Preliminary Interview, Written Test, Psychological Test, and Oral Test—all administered by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA). The FSOE is being done to recruit candidates for the Foreign Service Officer, Class IV position. As an eligibility examination, passers of the CSE-FSO shall be conferred the Career FSO Eligibility. This eligibility is appropriate for first-level (clerical) and second-level (technical) positions in the government that do not involve the practice of profession and are not covered by bar, board, and other laws.
