  • "Our purpose for coming up with the magazine is to inspire a lot of people. There are so many positive stories like Lyn Macanas, the cover girl in our latest issue who is a single mother of five and is the CEO of one of the leading construction companies, Chrizmarie Builders," the actress narrated.

The Supreme Court may have ruled in favor of Vhong Navarro but coping with the psychological impact of the celebrated case which dragged on for close to 10 years has not been easy for his immediate family, particularly his son Isaiah Vhong or Yce.

This was revealed by Yce's mom, actress Bianca Lapus, who said her son and her ex-husband Vhong are presently undergoing therapy "two times a week" to improve their mental and emotional state.

"My son Yce did not really have a normal life. There was a time when he was secured by bodyguards. He turned into an introvert. He was always at home, in his room. He's always sleeping because of the medications he's taking," Bianca noted.

She admitted that for eight years now, she and her son do not live together under one roof. They had to be physically separated because she could not accommodate the bodyguards in her condo unit.

"So Yce stayed with Vhong. It was quite painful for me, but it was a sacrifice I had to take as Yce is safer with his father," Bianca remarked.

Yce graduated with a communications degree from the University of Santo Tomas last year. He's also supposed to enter show business to follow his dad's footsteps and has joined workshops for this purpose.

"Parang gusto pa rin nya (showbiz) pero naudlot lang kasi alam mo naman, mental health ang pinag-uusapan. Ayaw namin syang pilitin. Kami naman, kung ano ang gusto nyang gawin, kung saan sya masaya, full support kami ni Vhong sa kanya," Bianca stated.

(It seems like he still wants it (showbiz), it was just interrupted because of mental health concerns. We don't want to force him on anything.. Whatever he wants to do, as long as he's happy, Vhong and I will fully support him.)

Bianca was an aspiring actress in her early 20's when she met Vhong, then they got married and had Yce. They separated after three years, but remain good friends even if they have their respective partners. She calls it "one happy blended family."

Aside from Yce, Bianca has three other young sons with her long-time non-showbiz partner, Jimmy Enriquez. She is busy managing a few businesses which she owns, including a salon, a coffeeshop in Tagaytay and a talent management outfit. We met Bianca during the launching of the second issue of Top Shelf Magazine by Velvet Media Inc. She bared that she is the marketing director of the publication, aside from being its columnist and co-owner.

"Our purpose for coming up with the magazine is to inspire a lot of people. There are so many positive stories like Lyn Macanas, the cover girl in our latest issue who is a single mother of five and is the CEO of one of the leading construction companies, Chrizmarie Builders," the actress narrated.

"I'm very much enjoying my corporate life now, but two weeks ago, I had a taping for Pepito Manaloto,"  she happily reported.

"From time to time, I do guestings but the reason why I have not been active in showbiz is that I'm a very hands-on mom," she pointed out. " I'm a breastfeeding advocate. I travel nationwide to teach moms how to breastfeed properly. I go to hospitals, I volunteer and give talks to my fellow moms."
