Responding cop wounded in Quezon

SARIAYA, Quezon – A police officer was shot and wounded while responding to an indiscriminate firing incident on Maundy Thursday in Sitio Duluhan, Barangay Manggalang I, here. Police Corporals Aldrick Leyola and Russel Kin Ibarrola and Police Patrolman Genesis Villa responded to a report that a man was firing his gun at about 8:30 p.m. The suspect, Rolando Cantos Arañez, sensed their arrival and ran away. The lawmen pursued the suspect but fired at them and hit the victim in the thigh. Leyola was able to retaliate but the suspect escaped. Ibarrola and Villa were unhurt. Leyola was taken to the Lucena United Doctor’s Hospital in Lucena City. Police are pursuing the suspect.Police
