PRO-3 holds Stations of the Cross for peace and order of Region 3
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – Peace and order in the region, health and safety of all members of the Police Regional Office 3, and their families.
These were the wishes and intentions the members of the Region 3 police force had included in their prayers as they held their own Way of the Cross coinciding with the traditional Stations of the Cross, a re-enactment of the final hours of Jesus Christ before He was crucified.
The PRO-3 held its Way of the Cross at Camp Captain Julian Olivas in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga on Good Friday, April 7.
Just like in the tradition of the Catholic Church, the re-enactment saw the officers and personnel of the regional headquarters meditatively reading and reflecting on events highlighting the intense suffering of Jesus Christ in Calvary leading to His crucifixion.
The PRO-3 participants completed the 14 Stations, starting off at Station 1 when Jesus was condemned by Pontius Pilate to die on the cross.
It was in Station 2 that Jesus accepted His cross which He carried on the way to Golgotha. On His way to Golgotha, He fell three times, the last at Station 9, before He was stripped of His clothes at Station 10 in preparation for the crucifixion.
The Regional Pastoral Officer stressed that this year’s prayer intentions and reflections are for the peace and order in Region 3 and the health and safety of both PRO-3 personnel and their families.
