'Motornapper' killed, live-in partner nabbed in QC 'shootout'
A suspected motorcycle thief was killed while his live-in partner was arrested during an entrapment operation conducted by personnel of Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Galas Police Station (PS 11) in Quezon City on Thursday, April 6.
Station 11 commander Lt. Col. Richard Ian Ang said the suspect, Yukio Mcfee, 26, a resident of Barangay Kamuning, Quezon City, died after he shot it out with the police.
His live-in partner, Shane Misha Morales, 19, of Brgy. Tatalon, Quezon City, was arrested for possession of illegal drugs.
According to the police report, Mcfee posed as a passenger at noon on April 5, and booked a ride with Roderick Silvio, an Angkas driver.
During the ride, the suspect declared a holdup before reaching the corner of Sampaguita and Ilang-ilang Streets in Barangay Mariana, QC, and took the driver's wallet, cellular phone, and motorcycle.
The victim immediately reported the incident to PS 11.
Police later received a report that the suspect was selling the stolen motorcycle.
PS 11 dispatched personnel to pose as buyers and transact with the suspects.
Mcfee agreed to meet up with the poseur buyers in Barangay Bagong Pag-asa, Quezon City.
Mcfee and his live-in partner arrived in the said area on board the stolen motorcycle.
Police said Mcfee, however, suddenly drew a .38-caliber revolver and fired shots at the approaching police officers.
The policemen fired back, killing Mcfee.
Recovered from Mcfee were a .38-caliber revolver loaded with four bullets, the victim’s motorcycle, identification cards, and motorcycle documents.
The PS 11 operatives placed Morales under arrest allegedly after they found shabu in her possession.
Police said Morales is now under the custody of PS 11 pending the filing of appropriate charges against her.
