Partly cloudy to cloudy weather, isolated rain showers to prevail over most of PH
The ridge of high pressure area and easterlies will bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather with isolated rain showers over most of the country in the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Thursday, April 6.
According to PAGASA weather specialist Patrick del Mundo, the ridge or extension of the high pressure area (HPA) will cause warm and humid weather conditions in most of Luzon.
The HPA is an anti-cyclone weather system.
Compared to the previous days, there is still less chance of rains, lightning, and thunderstorm in most of Luzon, Del Mundo said.
Meanwhile, he said there may be localized thunderstorms in Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, especially in the afternoon or evening.
Rains due to localized thunderstorms may be more frequent in the eastern parts of Visayas and Mindanao due to the prevalence of easterlies or the hot and humid air coming from the Pacific Ocean, he added.
PAGASA so far has not monitored a low pressure area (LPA) inside and outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR).
Although PAGASA has observed cloud clusters outside the PAR, Del Mundo said these have no distinct circulation yet.
But based on the PAGASA’s tropical cyclone threat forecast, there may be an LPA that may form and enter the PAR on Sunday, April 9.
Del Mundo said that although it will enter PAR, the LPA will not have a direct impact on any part of the country yet.
However, he advised the public to continue to monitor PAGASA’s updates regarding this potential weather disturbance.
