Couple from Cavite, 5 others picked as lucky first time Baguio visitors
BAGUIO CITY – A couple from Cavite and five individuals from Bataan who are visiting this city for the first time have been picked by the Baguio Correspondents and Broadcasters Club (BCBC) as the Baguio-Benguet Lucky Summer Visitor 2023 this Holy Week.

BCBC President Joseph Cabanas of Radyo Pilipinas said the media selection committee selected Ciara Balmaceda, 26, administrative staff, and boyfriend Ivan Maglis, 25, both from Bacoor City, Cavite, and Ivy Cayabyab, 30; Lea Cayabyab, 25; Rechelle Ramos, 36; Joan Velez, 38, and Genalyn Billones, 37, all from Mariveles, Bataan.
Cabanas said the couple was travelling on a Victory Liner bus from Pasay City and were picked at around 8 a.m. on Maundy Thursday in Pugo, La Union. Thirty minutes later at 8:30 a.m., five more neophyte visitors were picked, in Pugo on board a Genesis Bus. They will be given four days of red carpet treatment which includes accommodations, meals, tokens, and guided tours to different tourist sites in this city and nearby towns of La Trinidad and Tuba in Benguet. Pugo Mayor Kurt Martin welcomed and congratulated the seven lucky visitors in a mini-press conference in the town. They will make a courtesy call on Mayor Clarita Sal-ongan of Tuba and proceed to the Lion's Head on Kennon Road for a photo opportunity with media men.
They will then be taken to the media camp in Burnham Park to be introduced to BCBC members and join them for lunch before being taken to their hotel. The search for LSV is an annual project of the BCBC since 1958 in partnership with the city government of Baguio, La Trinidad and Tuba local governments, and the province of Benguet.
