BUTUAN CITY – A 4.1-magnitude earthquake rocked Zamboanga del Sur province anew Thursday afternoon, April 6, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
In its bulletin, Phivolcs said the earthquake was recorded at 12:04 p.m.
The epicenter was plotted only eight kilometers southeast of Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur province in Southwestern Mindanao region, the state agency said.
The tremor had a shallow depth only of six kms, Phivolcs said.
Intensity III was registered at the town proper of Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur while Intensity II also recorded in Molave, Mahayag, Sominot, and Midsalip, all of Zamboanga del Sur, and Sergio Osmeña Sr. of Zamboanga del Norte, and Intensity I in Dipolog City, also of Zamboanga del Norte province.
In its instrumental Intensities, Phivolcs also said Intensity II recorded in Molave, Zamboanga del Sur, and Intensity I in Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte and Kapatagan, Lanao del Norte and Zamboanga City.
The Zamboanga del Sur tectonic tremor is not expecting aftershocks or damages, the state agency also said.
The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) in Southwestern Mindanao region and Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) there reported no damage or injury.
