VIRAL: Father grants son's birthday wish to be a mermaid

Father-of-five John Alexis Avestrus made sure to do everything in his power to make his son, who turned 8 years old, happy on his birthday. His wish? To become a mermaid. “Pinanganak kang lalaki pero pusong babae. Di ako magician para gawin kang iha, pero mahal kita kaya suporta ako sa kung ano man ang gusto mo (You were born a boy but you have a heart of a girl. I am not a magician to make you a woman, but I love you so I will support you in whatever you wish for),” he posted on his Facebook account last April 1, 2023, with a photo of him carrying his son who’s wearing a colorful mermaid costume.  “Ayan ang wish mo, isa kang sirena. ‘Wag mo hayaang ibaba nila ang bandera mo (This is your wish, to become a mermaid. Don’t let anyone pull you down),” he added, ending his post with “I love you, Santino. From Papa B.” This viral post has over 40,000 shares and 6,000 comments as of this writing.
