Stay safe during 'Semana Santa' --- PCO'
As Filipinos, particularly Catholics, go on vacation in light of the Holy Week, the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) shared tips to help the public stay safe amid the Lenten season.
* An Anti-Narcotics K9 of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) sniffs bags of passengers at a bus station along EDSA in Quezon City, April 4, 2023, during the Holy Week exodus where people trooped to bus stations to be able to go to their provinces. The deployment of anti-narcotics K9 units is part of PDEA's efforts to intercept illegal drugs being transported across the country. It is a preventive measure aimed at reducing the incidence of drug trafficking. (Mark Balmores) *
"Alam naman natin na ang Semana Santa ay ang panahon ng pagninilay-nilay bilang Kristiyano at pagkakataon din na makasama ang mga mahal sa buhay (We know that the Holy Week is the time for reflection as Christians and time to be with our loved ones)," the PCO wrote in its Facebook post.
For those who will leave their homes unattended, the PCO reminded them to lock the doors and windows while securing important items in the house.
In addition, they are also reminded to:
* Ensure that no house items would cause fire
* Turn off lights and faucets
* Ask a trustworthy neighbor to watch the house when it is empty
