Yu posted on Twitter about her meeting with the former vice president that took place on Tuesday, April 4.
“Today, I welcomed @angatbuhay\_ph Chair Atty @lenirobredo to the Embassy. Together, we explored opportunities for collaboration in health, education and disaster preparedness to assist vulnerable groups in the Philippines,” she wrote.
Robredo, for her part, also posted on Facebook about meeting the Australian ambassador.
“Happy to meet Ambassador Hae Kyong Yu and everyone at the Australian Embassy in the Philippines, as we discuss possible collaborations with them on our shared advocacies,” she said.
“We at Angat Buhay look forward to working with the Embassy to help more Filipinos. Maraming salamat po for the warm welcome (Thank you very much for the warm welcome),” the former vice president added.
Angat Buhay, which Robredo chairs, was the flagship program of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) during her term.
She turned it into a non-profit, non-government organization after she completed her term at noon of June 30, 2022.
Angat Buhay aims to bridge communities that need help and organizations that can provide aid to them. It goes to far-flung areas, offering assistance during typhoons and other disasters.
Expected to have the largest network of volunteers, Angat Buhay has entered into agreements and collaborative projects with embassies, civic organizations, and civil society groups to bring aid to the most vulnerable sectors.
