In anticipation of the influx of travelers this Holy Week, the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) has set up first aid stations with trained emergency medical services teams in various "critical" locations across the country.

On Wednesday, April 5, PRC said that its teams were already deployed in major highways, bus terminals, beaches, parks, and churches for the holiday. As of 11 a.m., medical volunteers and staff have already assisted 265 individuals who experienced dizziness, laceration, abrasion, blister, and swelling. "If you need medical assistance, please do not hesitate to approach our first aid stations or call our ambulance teams. We are here to help," said PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Richard Gordon. Aside from providing medical assistance during Holy Week, PRC said that it has also been actively promoting health and safety during this season to prevent any injuries and emergencies. "The PRC's Semana Santa Operations will run from April 1 to 21, 2023. For emergencies or medical assistance, the public may call the PRC hotline at 143 or visit any PRC first aid station," PRC said.
