GOT7's Jinyoung to enlist in the military in May

K-pop boy band GOT7’s Park Jinyoung, 28, will be enlisting in the Korean military in May, his agency announced.  “Park Jinyoung, an artist under our agency, will receive basic military training at the training center on May 8 and will fulfill his military duty as an active duty soldier," said BH Entertainment.  GOT7's Park Jinyoung in Manila in February (Jonathan Hicap)
Born in 1994, he is the second member of GOT7 to serve in the military after Jay B.  Jinyoung took to Instagram to confirm his enlistment, a mandatory duty for all Korean men.   “It's gotten a lot warmer. Are you all doing well? You were surprised to hear about my enlistment, right? As disclosed, I will join the military on May 8 to fulfill my national defense duty,” he said.  He added, “I'm sure everyone is worried, but I think I've gotten calmer and more reassured after meeting you. So, thinking about you, I promise you that I will be healthy, experience many things, and return as a better person.” “Then see you soon. Thank you always and I love you,” he said.  Last February, he visited the Philippines and held his “Rendezvous: 2023 Park Jin-young Fan Concert in Manila.”  The filming for his drama “The Witch” was finished last month, Korean media reported.
