BAGUIO CITY – The Police Regional Office-Cordillera is on heightened alert this Holy Week for the influx of people here and in the region.

Brig. Gen. David Peredo Jr., PRO-Cordillera chief, with Baguio City Police Office director Col. Francisco Bulwayan Jr., inspected Police Assistance Desks in parks, malls, and terminals to check all preparations and contingency measures for "Ligtas Sumvac 2023."
Peredo reiterated his guidance to police officers to stay alert and vigilant to ensure the safety and security of people.
Bulwayan assured Peredo that police visibility and the PADs are strictly observed and monitored.
He said police, volunteers, Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams (BPATs), and other local law enforcers are working together to secure and patrol their barangays and subdivisions to prevent burglaries and home invasions during this solemn season.
Ligtas Sumvac 2023 is a 61-day security plan covering Holy Week until the end of May which entails rigorous mandatory security checks on major thoroughfares, business, commercial centers, bus terminals, hubs, and places of convergence.
