US bank Citi which transacted some $250 billion for its clients and another $100 billion merger and acquisition (M&A) deals in 2022 has been awarded Best Bank in Asia by Hong Kong-based magazine, The Asset.
In a statement on Monday, April 3, Citi said The Asset’s editorial panel has named it Best Bank in the region during their annual Triple A Sustainable Capital Markets awards dinner last March 14.
“All of us at Citi are deeply appreciative of our clients’ trust, which is embodied in this year’s Asset award. This exceptional recognition represents a strong vote of confidence in our great team, our focused strategy of supporting clients with global needs, and our unique international network,” said Peter Babej, Citi’s Asia Pacific CEO.
Citi said its banking franchise was recognized for the $250 billion capital market transactions and their M&A deals across Asia in the last year.
Citi was also awarded Asia’s Best Corporate and Institutional Adviser, Best Debt Adviser, Best Equity Adviser and Best M&A Adviser.
“These were alongside the 20 awards previously announced covering Citi led client work and advisory sector awards. These included Best Commodities Adviser, Best Healthcare/Pharma Adviser, Best New Economy Adviser and Best Consumer Goods Adviser,” said Citi.
