BACOLOD CITY – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) deployed 200 police officers to secure Holy Week here.
Lt. Col. Sherlock Gabana, spokesperson of the Bacolod police, said that at least two personnel are manning Police Assistance Desks (PADs) in churches during Masses or any Holy Week-related activities.
Gabana said policemen are also deployed in public transportation terminals while other personnel will patrol beach resorts.
He, however, said the deployment of personnel depends on the need in every area.
The Negros Occidental police is on heightened alert for the Holy Week and “summer” vacation.
Capt. Judesses Catalogo, spokesperson of the Negros Occidental police, said that policemen are deployed in churches, public plazas, and public transport terminals to ensure the safety of the people.
