Valenzuela City donates P6-M cash aid to provinces hit by Typhoon 'Rolly'
The local government of Valenzuela City will extend P6 million financial assistance to the provinces of Bicol region that bore the brunt of Typhoon "Rolly" early this month.
Through Council Resolution No. 1871 Series of 2020, Mayor Rex Gatchalian has been authorized to release the said amount, which will come from the city's general fund, to three Bicol provinces.
The breakdown of the assistance is as follows:
Province of Albay – P2,200,000 cash in total
Provincial Government of Albay – P1,000,000
City Government of Tabaco - P300,000
Municipal Government of Camalig – P200,000
Municipal Government of Malinao - P200,000
Municipal Government of Daraga - P250,000
Municipal Government of Guinobatan - P250,000
Province of Camarines Sur – P2,500,000 cash in total
Provincial Government of Camarines Sur – P1,000,000
Municipal Government of Bato – P200,000
Municipal Government of Buhi – P250,000
Municipal Government of Bula - P200,000
Municipal Government of Calabanga - P200,000
Municipal Government of Libmanan - P250,000
Municipal Government of Nabua – P200,000
Municipal Government of Pili - P200,000
Province of Catanduanes – P1,300,000 cash in total
Provincial Government of Catanduanes – P1,000,000
Municipal Government of Virac – P300,000
Gatchalian said the city government made the move as it wants to help its fellow local government units tide over the problems.
“Although we have spent so much fund in the response to COVID-19 that almost depleted our resources, we are still fortunate enough to have some amounts to spare to assist our brothers and sisters who suffered ill luck from the recent super typhoon while the battle against this pandemic is still on going,” he said in a statement.
The City Social Welfare and Development Office, Vice Mayor Lorie Natividad-Borja, District 1 Councilor Rovin Feliciano, District 1 Representative Wes Gatchalian, and Senator Win Gatchalian are set to visit the region to hand out the cash money this weekend.
