The Philippines has administered over 1.4 million doses of vaccines against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) as of April 17.

Department of Health (DOH) Undersecretary Myrna Cabataje reported that the country has administered 1,456,793 doses of COVID-19 vaccines as of April 17 using Sinovac and AstraZeneca jabs.
Of the number, 1,264,811 Filipinos have already received their first dose while 191,982 people have been fully vaccinated after receiving their second dose based on 3,155 reporting vaccination sites.
In her report, Cabotaje noted that the Philippines ranked third among Southeast Asian countries in terms of the number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered to its population.
Citing reports from Bloomberg and from foreign service posts, Indonesia leads the list with 15,811,449 doses administered, followed by Singapore with 1,667,522 doses of COVID-19 vaccines administered.
Under the A1 priority group, Cabotaje said 960,191 healthcare workers have received their first dose while 191,982 healthcare workers have received their second dose.
Under the A2 priority group, 128,018 senior citizens have got their first dose, while 176,305 individuals with comorbidities or those under A3 priority group have received their first dose.
“36 percent of the jabs were given to our healthcare workers, tapos (then) 10 percent sa ating (for our) senior citizens, tapos (then) 14 percent sa ating mga (for those) individuals with comorbidities,” Cabotaje said during the DOH virtual press briefing on Monday, April 19.
She noted that 3,025,600 vaccine doses have already been delivered in the country.
“Alam natin limited ang supply, kaya dapat ang prioritization framework ang ating isinasakutaparan with the most at risk and most vulnerable and ating primordial concern (We know the supply is limited so we must implement the prioritization framework with the most at risk and most vulnerable as our primordial concern),” Cabotaje said.
She disclosed that 54,179 people have deferred from getting the vaccine to a later date.
