In his Twitter account, Senator Christopher ‘’Bong’’ Go said the postponement was due to the many COVID-19 cases among Duterte’s security personnel belonging to the Presidential Security Group (PSG).
Go, a long-time aide and former special assistant to Duterte before successfully running for the 24-member Senate in 2019, said even Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana was found positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday, April 6.
‘’However, there is nothing to worry about when it comes to PRRD’s (President Duterte) health," he assured.
‘’Nasa mabuting kalagayan naman po ang Pangulo. In fact, magkasama kami kanina at patuloy ang kanyang trabaho (The President is well. In fact, we were together today, doing his work),’’ he added.
Go said he does not know the exact of number of infected PSG members.
‘’Okay naman ang kalusugan ng Pangulo. Kailangan lang mag-ingat, ayaw natin makipagsapalaran (The President’s health is all right. He just needs to be careful, we do not want him to face unnecessary risks),’’ he maintained.
