Navotas City requires mandatory RT-PCR tests for curfew, health protocol violators
The local government of Navotas city has passed an ordinance requiring residents who will be caught violating curfew hours and health protocols to undergo RT-PCR testing as penalty.
The new curfew hours in the city will be from 10 a.m. - 5 a.m. for adults, 24 hour curfew for minors and senior citizens.

City Ordinance No. 2021-17 requires all curfew, face mask, and social distancing violators to undergo RT-PCR test.
For the first offense, a mandatory RT-PCR test is required within one week. For the second offense, mandatory RT-PCR test if first offense happened after 14 days and a fine of P500 or 16 hours community service. The penalty for the third offense is similar to the first and second offense, depending on the day of violation.
The ordinance will be in effect starting Monday, March 15, in line with the unified curfew hours in Metro Manila.
Mayor Tiangco said the Ordinance will help curb the local transmission of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
“Kaya ipapa-RT-PCR test na ang mga lumalabag para malaman kung sila ay nahawa na sa COVID-19 at para mapigilan na maikalat pa nila ang virus (The violators will be required to undergo RT-PCR test to determine if they are already infected with COVID-19 and to prevent further transmission),” he said.
“Kailangan po nating magpatupad ng mga patakaran para mapigil ang paglala ng hawaan at pagkakasakit ng marami nating mamamayan, at tuloy-tuloy na makapaghanapbuhay ang lahat (We need to implement policies to prevent the spread of the virus and for the people to continue working),” he added.
