Hundreds evacuated in Pasig due to typhoon 'Rolly'

Hundreds of residents in Pasig City were evacuated to safer areas as typhoon Rolly heads towards the National Capital Region.

According to Mayor Vico Sotto, a total of 209 individuals already evacuated their houses in Santolan, Pasig.

These are the number of families being accommodated in various evacuation sites:ʉ۬
* Santolan Multipurpose Hall - 4 families
* Ilaya Covered Court - 32 families
* Rosario Elementary School - 8 families

Sotto urged residents to cooperate with the city's Incident Management Team for pre-emptive evacuation.

"Mas mabuti nang sumobra tayo sa pag-iingat kaysa magkulang. (It's better to take more precautions than to take less)," he wrote on Twitter Sunday night.

"Strongest rains winds expected around 8 pm. Praying for the best, preparing for the worst," Sotto added.
