Family of 5 dead in Pangasinan fire


PANGASINAN -- A couple and their three children died after their house was gutted by a fire in the early hours of Monday, April 3, in Rizal St., Brgy. Poblacion District IV, Pozorrubio.

Two other houses were also destroyed in the fire.

The Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO) said the fire started at about 12:10 a.m.

Fatalities were identified as Mark Villanueva, his wife Dexi Anne Villanueva, both 34 years old, and their children aged six, two and one years old.

According to a report, the fire originated from house no. 1 occupied by the  couple and their three children. The fire immediately spread to nearby houses.

All the occupants of houses no. 2 and 3 managed to escape.

The estimated total cost of damages of three houses was placed at P11 million.

Fire was declared out at about 3:00 a.m.

Investigation is still ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
