3,217 overseas Filipinos undergoing treatment for COVID-19

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Tuesday reported 27 new confirmed COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) cases and 45 new recoveries among Filipinos abroad.Â

In its daily monitoring of overseas Filipinos infected with COVID-19, the DFA said the new cases and new recoveries were from the Americas, Asia and the Pacific, and Europe.

Meanwhile, no new fatality due to COVID-19 was reported.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad since the outbreak began in February this year is 11,501. Of the total, 3,217 are undergoing treatment, 7,456 have recovered and 828 died due to coronavirus infections.

To date, the Middle East and Africa remain to be the region with the most number of confirmed COVID-19 cases, recoveries, under treatment, and fatalities among our nationals.

The Americas, on the other hand, has the least numbers in all categories compared to other geographic regions, except in the total number of deaths, wherein Asia and the Pacific rank lowest with a total of only 9.
