Reigning Miss Universe R'Bonney Gabriel announced that she will debut some of her unique design projects when she visits the Philippines in May.

The Filipino-American beauty queen, who also works as a fashion designer by creating eco-friendly clothing, made the revelation in a special letter to her fans released on April 30.

She wrote: "I am beyond excited to visit the Philippines in May. Filipinos are some of the world's most dedicated pageant fans, so I am looking forward to the high energy and excitement! 

"I am thankful to be a Filipino-American that can celebrate both sides of my culture. As a Fil-Am born and raised in the USA, it is heartwarming to feel the love and support from the Philippines as well. 

"I have some unique design projects I've been working on for Asian American Heritage Month this May and plan to debut them in my Philippines travels. 

"It's the perfect time to showcase beautiful Filipino textiles and traditional wear," Gabriel said.

Gabriel also said that she is enjoying her reign in New York as Miss Universe.

"After so much travel in the previous months, staying in NYC for three weeks and exploring more of the city as the weather warmed up was great. I was able to get involved with Latino Commission on AIDS, Gay Men's Health Crisis, and God's Love We Deliver. It has been quite a fulfilling feeling to be able to carry out Miss Universe advocacies in the city that I now call home," she also said.

"Being able to do a Pizza tour was another highlight (watch below). Pizza is one of my favorite foods, and there is some seriously delicious pizza in New York. 

"Prince Street Pizza and Di Fara Pizza is my favorite NY pizza I've tasted so far, but I'm on the hunt for more since I've had so many people give me other recommendations," she added.
