Drug pusher arrested in Baguio buy-bust

BAGUIO CITY â€“ A drug pusher is back in jail after she was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) in Barangay Irisan here on Monday, April 24. Police identified the suspect as Shania Fane Ballesteros, 29, of Barangay Irisian and listed as a high-value individual. Ballesteros was first apprehended in a buy-bust operation in October 2020 but was eventually released after availing of a plea bargaining agreement. However, the CDEU found out that she continued her illegal drug activities which prompted them to conduct an operation against her. Seized from her were a sachet of suspected shabu weighing more or less 1.15 grams with a standard drug price of P7,820, a cellphone, a pack of cigarettes, and the buy-bust money. Evidence was marked on-site in the presence of the suspect, representatives from the Department of Justice (DOJ), media, and barangay. She was detained and faces charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Drugs Act of 2002.
