Central Luzon cops declare readiness for eventualities on Labor Day commemoration
CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – The Central Luzon police have declared their readiness for the commemoration of Labor Day on May 1, Monday, where possible mass actions to be staged by labor and political groups all over the region are expected.
Police Regional Office-3 Director Police Brig. Gen. Jose S. Hidalgo Jr. said they already have the safety features of the plan for the Labor Day commemoration.
Nearly 700 Philippine National Police personnel were already dispatched at the different places of public convergence such as freedom parks and transportation hubs.
All PNP contingents have also been reminded to observe “maximum tolerance,” which is the PNP's standing policy when it comes to handling or tackling mass action and the protesters.
Police Assistance Desks (PADs) and Motorists Assistance Centers (MACs) are still in place in convergence points like bus terminals, airport, seaports, and recreational areas, including highways, main thoroughfares, and crime-prone areas to ensure maximum police presence until May 31, as “Ligtas Sumvac 2023” is still in effect.
