CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – Two members and two supporters of the New People’s Army (NPA) from Quezon and Batangas surrendered on Saturday, April 29.
The Police Regional Office 4-A identified the surrenderers as Nelson Baquillas from the Sangay ng Partido sa Lokalidad and resident of San Francisco, Quezon, and Fernando Magnaye and Alvin Alvarez of Tagkawayan, Quezon, and Fernando Rodriguez, alias “Fernan,” a member of the Haligi ng Batangueñong Anak Dagat (Habagat) Lian, Batangas chapter.
Their surrender was facilitated by local officials, police, and military.
They are now under the custody of the 85th Infantry Battalion and 2nd Quezon Provincial Mobile Force Company for custodial debriefing.
They expressed support to the government and signed a statement condemning the NPA.
Rodriguez yielded a caliber .38 revolver to the 2nd Batangas Provincial Mobile Force Company based in Camp Col. Jose P. Razon in Barangay Biliran, Nasugbu, Batangas.
