PPA warns travelers against prohibited items

Aside from the usual prohibited deadly weapons at ports, the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) today, Tuesday, April 4, announced that passengers are still prohibited to carry pork meat and pork products to Mindoro, Marinduque, Cebu, Negros Oriental, Negros Occidental, Bacolod, Bohol, Ormoc, Camiguin, Zamboanga, Isabela and other areas. PPA warned these prohibited meat products will be confiscated at the said ports. Also bringing chicken meat is prohibited in Masbate, Iloilo, Bacolod, Bohol and Cebu. Bringing out mangoes and mango seeds Puerto Princesa, Palawan are also forbidden. PPA is likewise confiscating seashells, exotic animals and undocumented fruits and plants in some areas, in compliance with the rules of other state agencies and local government units. The Port of Batangas prohibits pork products bound for Mindoro while the Lucena Port bans all pork meat products bound for Marinduque. The Port of Calapan Mindoro bans pork and chicken products. The Port of Matnog, Bicol (for trips bound for Visayas and Mindanao) bans live hogs, processed and frozen Pork products, like longanisa, Tocino, siomai Ham and Bacon, with no proper documentation for shipment. All ports of Masbate bans live chicken is strictly prohibited. Pork from Cebu, Pilar, PioDuran & Lucena with no permit issued from the Authority is likewise prohibited.
The Port of Puerto Princesa Palawan bans mangoes bound for other destinations. In the Negros Oriental/ Siquijor ports, the Baseport of Dumaguete, Siquijor and Larena bans pork and pork products. The Port of Sibulan bans pork products including chorizo and goat's meat while the Port of Bulado bans all pork at pork products including the famous chicharon from Carcar. In Panay/ Guimaras, Negros Occidental/ Bacolod/ Banago, all ports with trips bound for Bacolod/ Negros Occidental bans pork meat or any pork products. In Bohol, all ports ban live pigs including raw or cooked pork meat products such as chicharon, chorizo, embutido, siomai, lechon without complete documents from the agencies concerned. The Port of Ormoc bans live pigs, pork products and by-products, whether fresh, frozen, processed or cooked, including but not limited to frozen boar semen from areas with reported African Swine Fever (ASF); Coconut seed nuts, seedlings, young coconut (buko), fresh parts of coconut tree and similar plants coming from Luzon (Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, Quezon) and Bicol Region are also prohibited as well as plants and fruits without Plant Quarantine Shipping Permit (mangosteen, lanzones, etc.) that came from Luzon; banana, hemp and other similar crops from Davao City, Davao Delsur, Davao Del Norte, Compostela Valley, Bukidnon and North and South Cotabato In Davao, those from the port of Babak, Samal Island bound to Davao are banned from carrying endangered species and wild life, corals, shells and even sands. From Davao City bound to Samal Island, it's prohibited to carry pork meat (Raw and Cooked), Processed Pork Products like canned pork meats, luncheon meat and mango. The Cagayan de Oro Port bans pork and chicken meat bound for Iloilo, Bacolod, Bohol and Cebu. The Balingoan Port bans pork and chicken meat bound for Camiguin. The Baseport Zamboanga and the Isabela Port bans pork and by products from ASF affected areas to Zamboanga City and Illegal Wildlife Animal/s and plant/s without permit. The Ozamiz Port bans pork to and from Cebu City. The TMO Plaridel, Lanao del Norte/ Iligan bans pork to and from Cebu City. The Port of Iligan also bans pork products bound for Cebu.
