P3.4-M shabu seized in Benguet


LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and Benguet Provincial Police Office arrested two drug pushers and seized suspected shabu worth P3.4 million in Barangay Betag here on Sunday, April 2.

Suspects were identified as Abdul Madid, alias “Maino,” and Sidec Dula Madid, both listed as high-value targets of PDEA.

The operation at 11:40 p.m. was conducted in the presence of Barangay Kagawad Frederick Compalas and Prosecutor Joylyn Calde.

Suspects yielded five knot-tied plastic bags containing suspected shabu weighing more or less 500 grams, buy-bust money, one  mobile phone, wallet, IDs and ATM card, and bank receipts.

They are awaiting arraignment.

Meanwhile, Mayor Benjamin Magalong here said that they sought the immediate destruction of the 575 kilos of shabu valued at P4 billion seized last week in Barangay Irisan.

Magalong added that it took three days to examine the contraband by a team of Philippine National Police (PNP) chemists.

The mayor said they filed a motion with the court on Monday, April 3, for their disposal after a case was on Saturday, April 1.
