ZAMBOANGA CITY – The Philippine Navy intercepted a motor launch carrying hundreds of drums of smuggled fuel products in the sea of Sulu on Saturday, April 1.

The Naval Forces Western Mindanao, through its operating units, intercepted the M/L Anne Nur within the vicinity of Tulian Island in Indanan and conducted visit, board, search, and seizure operations that led to the confiscation of 404 drums of XCS and 43 drums of automotive diesel oil with an aggregate market value of P9,651,084. The vessel was reportedly bound for Jolo, Sulu from Sitangkai, Tawi-Tawi when it was apprehended. The boat, its nine crew members, and the contraband were escorted to the AMR Fishing Port here and turned over to the Bureau of Customs for disposition.
