Man stabs wife to death over vices, money in Lucena City

LUCENA CITY, Quezon – A 61-year-old driver allegedly stabbed his 60-year-old wife to death following a heated argument over vices and money in Purok Sampaguita 1 Bel-Air, Barangay 10, this city, on Sunday night, April 2. Police said the suspect, Nestor Paraiso, hurt the victim, Irenia, during the confrontation, prompting her to seek assistance of barangay “tanods” or watchmen. The suspect suddenly appeared while Irenia and a barangay tanod were on their way to the couple’s house. Nestor grabbed and stabbed her in the neck with a knife. The victim died on the spot while the suspect tried to escape but was arrested by the barangay tanod. The knife was recovered at the crime scene. Nestor was turned over to the police here and he is facing a parricide case.
