Aircon overheats, causes fire at Muntinlupa school

An air-conditioning unit that was left running caused a fire at a school in Muntinlupa on April 4.  According to the Muntinlupa City Fire Station, the fire started at about 5:45 a.m. from an air-conditioning unit in a classroom at the Muntinlupa Cosmopolitan School along National Road in Barangay Putatan.  The fire incident at Muntinlupa Cosmopolitan School in Barangay Putatan (Photos from the Muntinlupa City Fire Station) 
The air conditioner at Room 303 of the school was left running and it overheated due to dirty air filters and condenser coils, the fire station said.  Only the air conditioner was destroyed in the fire, which had an estimated damage of P15,000.  No one was injured in the fire, which was put out at 5:50 a.m. or five minutes later.  Six fire trucks and one ambulance responded to the incident.
