5th escapee in Pasay jail break recaptured


Another inmate who escaped from the police detention facility in Pasay City was recaptured in Laguna Monday afternoon, April 3.

Col Froilan Uy, Pasay City police chief, identified the 5th captured escapee as Christian Salvatierra, 40, who was charged with illegal possession of drugs.

He was arrested at around 4:45 p.m. on Mabolo St. in Barangay Parian, Calamba City, Laguna by operatives of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) and the Warrant and Subpoena Section (WSS).

Uy said aside from the illegal possession of drugs case, Salvatierra is also facing charges for violation of PD 1602 (anti-gambling law).

Salvatierra was one of the 10 inmates who bolted at the Pasay Police Malibay detention facility in Barangay 152, Malibay at around 4:30 a.m.

The city police chief there are still five remaining escapees who are being hunted down. They are Richard dela Cruz, Carlo Magno Benavides, Norman Deyta, Romeo Marasigan, all facing illegal possession of drugs charges; and John Michael Cabe, who was charged with carnapping.
