Police in hot pursuit of 10 inmates who bolted Pasay City jail

Ten inmates facing charges of illegal possession of drugs, robbery, and carnapping who bolted the Pasay City police custodial facility on Monday, April 3, are now the subject of the police's hot pursuit operation.
Police identified the suspects as Richard dela Cruz, Carlo Magno Benavidez; Christian Salvatieers, Norman Deyta; Joey Hernandez; Eden Garcia, Joseph Osorio, who are all charged for illegal possession of drugs; Tirzo Galit; Joshua Panganiban, who are both facing robbery charges; and John Miachel Cabe, who is accused of carnapping.
According to the report of city police chief Col. Froilan Uy to Southern Police District Director Brig. Gen. Kirby John Brion Kraft, the incident happened at around 4:30 a.m. at the Malibay Detention Facility located at Barangay 152, Malibay, Pasay City.
Police said the three inmates were able to break the iron grill of the facility, maul the jailer who was on duty, Staff Sergeant Ariston Arid, and take his service firearm, cash money, and assorted keys of the jail.
Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano ordered Uy to recapture the suspects within 24-hours.
Uy relieved the Malibay substation commander, Maj. Jerry Sunga, deputy commander, Capt. Mamerto Sunga and Arid.
Trackers teams composed of Sub-Station 6, Intelligence Unit, Station Drug Enforcement Unit, Investigation and Detective Management Section operatives were created for the immediate arrest of the suspects.
