K-pop group Seventeen’s Seungkwan, late Moonbin’s best friend, to skip some album promotions 


K-pop boy band Seventeen member Seungkwan, who is mourning the death of his best friend,  Moonbin of group ASTRO, will be skipping some of the activities related to their new album “FML.” 

“We would like to inform you that Seventeen member Seungkwan will not be able to participate in some of the Seventeen’s 10th Mini Album ‘FML’ activities, including the Seventeen 10th Mini Album Fan 'FML' Signing event as he is currently feeling unwell. We offer our apologies to our fans and ask for your generous understanding,” Pledis Entertainment announced on April 29.

Seventeen's Seungkwan posted these photos of him and Moonbin on his Instagram account on April 28 (Instagram)

It added, “Our company is committed to providing necessary support and assistance to Seungkwan during his recovery process.”

According to the Seoul Gangnam Police Station, Moonbin was found dead at his home in Gangnam, Seoul at about 8:10 p,m. on April 19 by his manager who reported it to the police. No evidence of foul play was found. He was 25. His funeral was held on April 22. 

Seungkwan and Moonbin are known to be best friends. 

On April 28, Seungkwan posted photos of him and Moonbin, and a letter on his Instagram account. 

“If I want to see you, I can see you. If I want to hear you, I can hear you. 'Cause I really believe you're watching from heaven. Will you monitor this promotion as well? I will reflect on your feedback, so please watch over me,” Seungkwan wrote. 

He added, “It was such an honor to be your friend. And thank you so much for being my friend. Thank you again for making me feel and learn a lot.” 

“If there's anything that I want to ask for, it is that you come to me in my dreams. In the next life, you will always be my friend. I will see you up there! As soon as I see you, I'll hug you really tight,” he said. 

Seungkwan ended the letter with “I love you so much. Bin, you worked hard.”

Previously, Seungkwan visited the memorial space for Moonbin at the Fantagio building in Seoul and left a message. 

"Moong-bing, do wait a little more. If you do, I'll do all I can to make you feel as if the whole universe is yours. I'll make sure that happens. Love you, lots and lots. And give me a hug the next time we see each other,” he wrote, according to SBS News.
